Once upon a time there was a mother pig who had three little baby pigs, who were growing bigger en bigger...
Rod Burnett is the pig farmer who shares tales of his father, also a pig farmer, with the audience. He uses the pig puppets to tell pig stories and sing pig songs; some well-known others lesser-known but all very funny. So on stage we meet old favourites like the three little pigs, the big bad wolf, a couple of pig songs and the story of the old woman and her pig (who wouldn’t jump over the stile).
The puppets used in The Three Pigs are all made by Rod Burnett himself from flat wood and with little mechanisms to bring them alive. This extraordinary and hilarious family show is a delight for the audience – old and young - who will roll over with laughter!
ROD BURNETT toured The Netherlands in February 2014 with The Steadfast Tin Soldier. His show and school visits were such an incredible success and inspired so many, so that he returns again to The Hague. Rod trained originally as a sculptor and therefore designs and makes all his puppets himself. He tours with his shows both in the UK and internationally. He is a regular guest at puppet-theatre festivals like Titirimundi (International Puppet Festival, SPAIN). He not only performs but is also a great teacher to aspiring puppeteers. When developing a new show he always bears in mind that a performance has to be enjoyable and lovable for both children and adults. His performances stimulate creativity and imagination in children and adults alike.
STET’s education department can also arrange for a visit of this performance to your school.

"Thank you for arranging the visit of the Steadfast Tin Soldier to our school. The children were enthralled and loved the simplicity of this show. Using puppets with the great staging and lighting, transformed our hall into a wonderful atmospheric theatre for the children. These experiences are unique and will remain as powerful memories for many years to come.”
