A CLASSICAL PUNCH AND JUDY SHOW IS A TREAT FOR PARENTS AND CHILDREN ALIKE
"YES YOU CAN... NO YOU CAN'T..."

 Punch 1Punch 2

Punch and Judy is the definitive seaside puppet show! An outrageous comedy that has entertained families for generations. Poor old Mr Punch suffers from all the problems of a man of his day: a nagging wife, Judy, (they don't exist anymore..), a chasing policeman (rarely seen these days) and his ultimate foe ... a ghost (they are definitely still around!).

The audience can't help but join in as the bad guy appears on stage and only Mr Punch cannot see him.  He's behind you!

MORE INFORMATION

Rod Burnett of Story Box Theatre (Bristol), is particularly well-known in The Hague for his wonderful puppetry shows, like the Steadfast Soldier (2014) the Three Pigs (2015) and the Snow Queen (2016). He has been performing Punch and Judy since the late 70th.

“I have had the pleasure and the honour of working Mr Punch and the show for more than thirty years. I still perform at events around the UK but am more increasingly invited to perform at festivals around the world where there is a great interest in the show’s shocking black humour and complex history. I have been fortunate to work in the company of all the cousins of Mr Punch, like Pulcinella, Dom Roberto, Petrushka, Don Christobel, Vitez Laszlo, Karagoz, Jan Klaasen and Polichinelle. These are all part of the same tradition as Punch and Judy and it is a wonder to me that this sort of show is to be found all around the world and an honour to be asked to work with them to present Punch to a global audience.”
